VENTURA COUNTY FC vs SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES II

Cobi Jones, a Legend Immortalized

Cobi Jones, who grew up in Westlake Village and graduated from Westlake High School in Ventura County, was celebrated in grand fashion on April 26, 2026, when a 9-foot-tall bronze statue was unveiled at Dignity Health Sports Park's Legends Plaza, making him the third LA Galaxy player immortalized in bronze alongside David Beckham and Landon Donovan. The National Soccer Hall of Famer and still the most-capped United States Men's National Team player LA has given back deeply to the community where he was raised. Jones serves as a key leader within Oak Sports Holdings, the initiative launched to bring MLS soccer to Ventura County, sharing leadership alongside co-president Mark Noorzai as a central figure in the Ventura County FC ownership group.

Striker | Julian Placias

Julian Placias, a 19-year-old center-forward from Rancho Santa Margarita, California, has wasted no time making his mark in his return to Ventura County FC in 2026. A product of the LA Galaxy Academy, Placias earned MLS NEXT Cup Top Scorer honors in 2023 before gaining experience abroad with Belgian side K.V.C. Westerlo and USL Championship club North Carolina FC. Back with VCFC this season, he has been one of the team's most dangerous attackers, recording 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 appearances — form impressive enough to earn him three short-term call-ups to the LA Galaxy first team, a clear sign that his trajectory in the Galaxy system is pointing sharply upward.
